Markarian 348

Ann K. Schwader

Some galaxy larger than ours next door
just got discovered
a genuine giant
one point three million light-years around

so much
for suburban malls.

No Milky
Way about it: thirteen times bigger
spells trouble
right here in Terra City's
thin backwater spiral arm

no wonder
our flyby saucer trade is a little
off these days.
