At the age of five Jean Pierre Targete picked up his first comic book, it was Batman. Fascinated by the powerful compositions and muscular heroes in this fantasy world Jean automatically began to copy what he saw and to the shock of his parents he had a photographic memory and an uncanny imagination. No one could predict the next course this young prodigy's life would take.
Drawing constantly for the next eleven years Jean harnessed his talent and taught himself how to draw. Inspired by the fantasy masters of the day Frazetta, Boris, Corben and the Hilderbrandts Jean Pierre relentlessly strove to master his Art.
His paintings have been published all over the world, and have graced the covers of sci-fi and fantasy's most popular authors. Some of his most notable work has been for Roger Zelazny, Diana L. Paxon and Adrienne Martine-Barnes, and Harry Harrison. Most recently he has produced covers for Gregory Benford, Greg Bear, Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, and the fast selling Starfist books by David Sherman and Dan Cragg.
