The Watcher

Linda Ruzicka

Molten sunlight chases the
grey shadows
of the early morning dawn

Mist rises in eerie
spectral haunting
neither here nor there

Scents ride the wind
almost tangible
but as yet undefined

Leaves twist and turn
pale undersides
exposed to the watcher

The watcher breathes deeply
in rhythm
to the essence of Her.
