Song of the Moon

Terry Weide

What is the song the moon sings when she rides full in the sky?
What are the songs her dark mountains and dusty seas whisper
And roar as they catch the light of the sun in cool embrace
Drawing it from the depths of space--reflecting the yellow
Light of fantasy and of night, beckoning to the ship of Earth
Below and calling unceasingly to all, "Come, Come!"?

Here is the song the moon sings, here is the song she sings:

"There are no reefs to bar your way, this world is home for
All who follow the moonlight and the dream; my arms are white
And open wide waiting for you to take your place in the palace
Of my goddesses, Diana, Hecate, Ishtar, and Selene, they will
Wait on you, no mortal can resist their charms, look at the
Whiteness of their arms--open your ears, your hearts, your minds...
Now you hear my siren call, your very soul belongs to me--
Fly to me now on spirit wings, hear the song the moon sings,
Fly to me through the blue-black sky, fly to me, I, the
Goddess Eternal am calling you--Come! Come!
There is no escape from my embrace, there is no escape from
My song, all you can do is what you must...

Come! Come!"
